For many women, about three months after childbirth, hair starts to fall off. According to the Cleveland Clinic, this process can take up to six months. Although the hair usually grows back, many women at my clinic complain that their hair looks thinner and dull, whereas before, it seemed shiny and healthy. From a Western medical point of view, the reason for losing hair after childbirth is hormonal.

An acupuncturist approach:

From a Chinese medical perspective, hair loss and dull-looking hair in the postpartum stage are due to "blood deficiency." When women give birth, they lose a great deal of blood. In many cases, this can last for up to six weeks.

I have formulated for my patients Rejuvenate Treasure. This fantastic blend is a postpartum hair oil blend made with all-natural oils extracted from herbs, which helps the new hair to look rejuvenated, refreshed, and silky.

It is vital to nourish yourself from the inside as well as the outside,

you can read more about it in the Blog section "Postpartum Tips."
